Deepening our Commitment to Safety and Transparency with SOC2 Type I Accreditation

At DigitalMint, we prioritize upholding the highest standards of cyber and information security for our customers. One of the ways we’ve demonstrated this commitment is by pursuing SOC 2 compliance.

After months of hard work and undergoing a rigorous third-party assessment of our security controls, we are proud to announce that on September 18, 2024 we passed our recent SOC 2 audit and have been awarded a SOC 2 Type I report relevant to security, confidentiality, and availability.

Passing the audit is a significant milestone for DigitalMint and means we conform to the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants AICPA SOC 2 standard. This serves as assurance that your data is being managed in a controlled and audited environment.

What is SOC 2

The SOC 2 (System and Organization Controls) compliance framework was developed by the AICPA to evaluate and validate an organization’s information security practices.

SOC 2 Type I refers to a specific type of audit report for service organizations, particularly those that handle customer data. The SOC 2 Type I report assesses the effectiveness of an organization’s controls related to applicable trust services criteria (e.g., security, availability, confidentiality, processing integrity, and/or privacy) as of a specific date. It reviews whether the controls are suitably designed as of that point in time. It’s often the first step before undergoing a SOC 2 Type II audit, which assesses both design and operational effectiveness over a period of time (usually 6 months or more).

DigitalMint’s SOC 2 Type I audit was conducted by Modern Assurance, an independent, third-party accounting and auditing firm who evaluated our processes, procedures, and controls for security, confidentiality, and availability.

Path Forward

This is not the end of DigitalMint’s SOC 2 journey. We are committed to enhancing our security posture and ensuring safety and transparency and will be actively pursuing SOC 2 Type II compliance in the coming months. Carrying out an ongoing SOC 2 Type II audit will help us maintain the high standards that we have established and continue to support our customers’ needs.
