Job Summary & Objectives

As an Accounting Associate at DigitalMint, you will play a key role in ensuring the financial health of our organization. This position focuses on monitoring accounts receivable, handling collections with a customer-centric, “white glove” approach, and performing light accounting duties. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, excel at problem-solving, and show meticulous attention to detail. While direct accounting experience is not required, familiarity with basic accounting principles and ERP systems will be valuable.

Core Duties & Responsibilites

Administrative & Operational Support:

  • Perform general administrative tasks related to financial documentation, data entry, and record-keeping.
  • Take on additional responsibilities as needed to support company growth and the finance department’s evolving needs.

Accounts Receivable & Collections:

  • Monitor and review accounts receivable to identify overdue accounts.
  • Contact customers with overdue balances to arrange payment plans or secure immediate payment while maintaining positive client relationships.
  • Draft and send demand letters upon request, following established protocols for tone and compliance.
  • Provide a “white glove” approach to collections, ensuring a professional, empathetic, and solutions-oriented dialogue with customers.

Invoicing & Accounting Support:

  • Prepare and issue invoices to customers.
  • Assist the Accounting Manager with daily bank operations, month-end close procedures, account reconciliations, and audit support.
  • Update and maintain accurate financial records.

What We’re Looking For

Qualifications & Experience:

  • At least 1 year of experience in accounting. Collections experience is preferred.
  • No direct accounting experience required, but familiarity with accounting fundamentals.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interface professionally with customers and internal teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required; experience with an ERP system (e.g., Sage Intacct) is ideal.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.

  • Customer Service & Communication: Ability to interact with customers empathetically, resolve conflicts, and maintain positive relationships while pursuing overdue payments.
  • Critical Thinking & Problem-Solving: Aptitude for evaluating situations, identifying alternative solutions, and implementing strategies to improve collection outcomes.
  • Time Management: Effectively organizing and prioritizing workload to meet deadlines and support the broader accounting team’s objectives.

Tools & Technology:

  • Software: Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Sage Intacct or similar ERP, and related accounting tools.
  • Hardware: Apple Laptop computer provided by DigitalMint.
